Almost midnight and today was sufficiently unremarkable that I never got around to commenting on it.

At feeding time a raccoon came up on the porch and was all set to come inside the hole in the screen when it saw me sitting on the porch.

I spoke to it quietly and made no sudden moves, but suggested that if it waited just a bit there would be food there for her(?) and all her(?) friends.

I went inside and got the bag of kibble, filled the assorted feeding dishes, then went back inside.

After I'd fed the cats inside (as usual) I tossed raccoon biscuits onto the patio. They were, of course, gone within half an hour at the most.

I think the possum and raccoon mothers have left their kids to fend for themselves and are now breathing a collective sigh of relief somewhere in the woods.

I hate to even mention (for fear that I will jinx it) that the computer is behaving quite nicely. So I won't discuss it.

That's it for today--if I don't upload this it will go as a tomorrow entry.
