Why early?

Well, my toenails were almost long enough to curl around a tree branch.

So, I got to the nail salon at WalMart a few minutes after they opened. And the person who usually takes care of me took over.

Not only did I get a great pedicure, there was also an extended leg massage and other little "pamperings."

I was the only customer in the salon--guess most people got their tootsies done for Mothers' Day.

And then I picked up a few things I needed, paid for them, then headed on home.

Around the middle of the afternoon (almost feeding time) I realized that I had seen neither hide nor hair of either cat. I called, and did the calling bang on the side of the house, but still no sign of a cat.

Finally, I guess their stomachs sent the correct message, and they appeared. I have no idea where they'd been, and I think they went back there. I was beginning to worry that they had disappeared--not a pleasant thought.

I think this is the first time I've seen them going off together. CC was the sole resident cat when Spots decided to adopt me, but they existed pretty much independently, with CC usually staying fairly close to home.

Between the morning at the pedicure/manicure place, and the hour or so worrying about whether the cats had disappeared, most of the day went by.

And I realized I had forgotten to fill up the gas tank. I was going to do that before it got dark, but then I watched the weather forecast for tomorrow, and it is not too great. The probable rain will keep me from going in to Newcomb. Actually--it's not the going in, but the need to walk around outside to get from where I park to where I work. It is so easy to slip, and especially to have a cane slip.

So, tomorrow will probably be another at-home. Watch--it will end up being brilliantly sunny after 8 AM (the latest I care to leave for N.O.)
