And it was a typical SE LA summer day--hot and humid.

But not too hot and not too humid. I have the various fans going (and the AC in the computer room) but I am not uncomfortable.

Thank goodness the cats have sense enough to NOT be cuddly in the summer. Friendly, but not cuddly.

I spent today doing this and that--in a leisurely manner, of course.

Mail today had an offer of a free pint of Blue Bell ice cream. All blood donors this month get one.

(Note to self: try to get to Blood Center next week!)

Weather has either cooled down slightly or my body has adapted to summer high temps. It's a little of both, but primarily the first.

And today I finished the Evanovich novel--Sizzling Sixteen. It was good, as usual. I think 17 is due out in a couple of months--I'll probably preorder it. (I think that's how 16 magically appeared in my mailbox.)

These are set in New Jersey (west central area) and I'm from New Jersey (north east area--near Newark) so a LOT of the background material definitely rings a bell.

I left NJ in 1957 and haven't been back since. No reason to go there. I graduated from high school in 1954, and between college and moving pretty much lost track of people. Or they lost track of me.

But semi-familiarty with the setting locale makes Evanovich books have a little something extra to them.

Since I finished that book, I need to find another one. I'm semi-reading a couple of books--they looked interesting, but haven't yet "caught" me.

Time to get back to the "serious" entertainment for the evening--reading a book to a background of TV drivel.
