An IUD, of course.

I did some this and that around the house, then got started on typing up the inventories for the three cartons of archival material that I've been processing.

One of the things I try to do is to get every name mentioned in the material into the index. With the wonders of the cyber world, that means it's a LOT easier to locate someone.

But it also means a bunch more typing.

I have found that the most efficient way to do that is to bring the work home. Nobody at home is hanging over my shoulder waiting to use the computer.

And--I don't have to cope with the differences in the way Apples want their commands.

My goal is to have it all on line by next Monday.

Weather today was hot, but not ridiculously so. Translation: I didn't get a glow (of perspiration) on.

There is one particular little raccoon that has definitely decided that the front porch is a great place to look for food. He(?) has learned the kitchen noises that say "food is coming" and if doesn't hear those noises--and knows I am in the house--he stands by the screen door to the living room and looks pitiful. And a young raccoon with the "I'm starving" face can manage that quite well.

He knows the rules--don't get too close to me, and I won't get close to him. And don't mess with the cats--they have welcomed you to share their food.

(I am assuming that it's a he--if it comes back next spring with little ones I'll know it isn't.)

And we are now in the season of watching the tropics. There's a tropical storm in the Gulf, but it's highly unlikely that it will move in a way that threatens the Gulf Coast. It's near Panama and Honduras at the moment, I think.

As you can tell--another IUD. One "outing"--a quick run to Popeye's, and then back home.

And tha's it for today.
