But that's to be expewcted in July.

So far, I don't find it oppressive. There's a fan in the den. And there's a window AC in the room with the computer. There's also a bed/couch thing that I can use if I want to be frozen in my sleep.

That hasn't happened yet--I'm quite comfortable in the den with the fan on.

Another IUD, of course. If I happen to be out on the porch after about 3 PM I usually have a masked face poke through the hole in the screen (that the cats and other critters use) to remind me that the body attached to the face is about to collapse from starvation. Right.

So I feed the menagerie.

This morning my TV didn't want to respond to the remote. I checked the batteries, but still nothing.

So I called the cable company. The person who answered gave me another number, and that was answered by a woman who diagnosed the problem immediately. Something was on top of a thingie on/in the cable connection wire. I moved it, and the problem was solved.

I cannot help but wonder how many times others had had the same problem before the word got passed around about the simple fix.

I had figured that perhaps the connection to the house had been used as a teething device by various critters--some of whom wear masks. Needless to say, I was quite pleased that it was something very simple.

And score points for the cable company--it was a female tech who came up with the solution. She asked if there was anything on top of a device in the middle of a cable. There was, I removed it, and my TV is fully functional again.

I went to Arby's for supper, only to find that their AC was on the fritz. It was not uncomfortable if one sat under a fan, but I felt sorry for the staff behind the counter, where cooking went on.

And now for another evening of TV drivel. At least I have a new book to read.
