Yes, hot again. Temps in the 90s are blessedly rare around here. Humidity in the 90s--which makes those lower temps somewhat irrellevant to comfort--is much more likely.

I put in a full day at work today and can begin to see progress on the current collection.

It's really quiet with most of the students gone.

They'll be coming back soon, though. I'm betting that the fancy dormitory being built across the street won't be done in time. It won't be the first time this has happened--when it does happen Tulane just goes and rents out an entire motel or something similar.

Yesterday I mailed YD a "family history" written by my paternal grandfather years and years ago. He was a professor of engineering at Stevens Institute of Tedhnology (and I may have said something about this yesterday.)

At any rate, his "autobio" spoke of some of his books.

YD was fascinated by it--and talked about it on HER blog.

Well, today she called me to tell me the responses she got. One person lives near where some of my grandfather's books are and is going to look them up. And she got a couple more similar comments.

YD (of course) plans on looking up some of his works the next time she is near that library.

I'm sure my grandfather (who was a highly respected engineer) would be really pleased.

Well, I didn't quite melt today, but I hope tomorrow is a bit cooler.
