I told YD my sad car tale, and she drove down with a new battery.

She agreed that the process of replacing it looked pretty obvious, and in no time at all (seemingly) my car was running again! (I am going to love casually dropping into the narrative of the sick car that my daughter fixed it. Never underestimate the power of a woman.) She took off before I had a chance to reimburse her for the battery, so I just mailed her a check.

Lagniappe (for me) was getting to visit with my granddaughter, who came along with her mother.

That girl is growing like a weed!

The rest of my day was totally unremarkable (TU).

I got my IRS extension request mailed off, so that's (temporarily) out of the way. Before I can do the regular form I have to get an instruction book--an interesting problem since the post office no longer carries them. If worst comes to worst, I can always spend an hour or so downloading it. Or call a friend who is an accountant.

Next week will be back to Newcomb week, when I shall try to get caught up on the alumnae files. At the moment I think the week is otherwise clear, but I need to check my calendar to be sure. There may be a dentist appointment in there somewhere, replacing the one that got cancelled because of torrential rain.

Never dull moment--but if all one's days were uneventful wouldn't that be boring!
