I was getting ready to put out raccoon food this afternoon when I noticed a raccoon waiting a bit anxiously. Spots was already on the porch.

Then I took a good look at the raccoon, and saw swollen tits hanging down.

Conclusion: the first of this year's "crop" is out back in the woods!!

For the next couple of weeks or so the mamas will be coming by for quick meals.

And then, they will bring the kids to teach them about solid food.

Based on previous years, I think that Spots is honorary father to the striped ones.

I haven't seen any possums for a while, but who knows what will happen when they need quick meals.

My next door neighbors are off for the weekend--I can't wait to tell them when they get back.
