Okay folks--I'm getting really tired of hot and dry.

Oh wait--it's only the air that's dry--the humans are sweating up a storm.

The critters are looking for shady spots, preferably with a blanket of leaves covering the dirt. Add in a bush or two for shade and they have it made.

It looks like I have acquired three little raccoons (probably from the same litter) who are--with the permission of the cats (and human)-- settling in to a nice terrritory where just about everyone seems friendly.

Today was a this-and-that day again. I guess I got some stuff done, and I also guess that I'm allowed to rest and relax if I want to.

Just as long as the food gets put down for the critters.

Tomorrow I need to call the orthpedist (the one I cancelled out on a couple of weeks ago) and make another appointment. Somehow I had it in my head that I had already done that, but I find nothing in my date book.

Today goes into my "record book" as incredibly unremarkable.

Oh--and I got a bill today from my "regular" doctor for a service he did not perform.

I think I mentioned that I had had a very unsatisfactory visit with him a couple of months ago. I talked with one of the very nice nurses about this--including my feelings of being ignored and brushed off.

We'll just have to see what happens there. He's been in practice for more than 35 years, and he is probably slowing down. He could probably barter medical services (onboard) on a cruise ship for the fare for him and his wife.

Oh well--just have to wait and see what happens.

Ahhh . . . the sky is darkening and air is cooling.

Think I'll go check what's on tonight's drivel schedule.
