Oh, and SpouseKitty received that dreaded doctor's call. The liver biopsy, which was supposed to be the be-all-end-all and tell us what's going on.

Drumroll please...

They're not sure. It's either fatty liver or auto-immune hepatitis, but they can't tell the difference.

That's not the good news. (I save the \o/ emoticons for special occasions, donchakno?)

The good news is that SpouseKitty's liver isn't any worse than it was before.

I guess the doctor didn't see the part in the medical records where it says bad results that are 'normal' when it comes to that test. He must have seen the low (and high, but not in a good way) numbers, thought the worst, ordered the biopsy, then, in the time it took for the lab to process the sample, finally get around to reading the medical records.

(I joke that SK's medical history reads like a Russian novel: long and painful.)

So, the liver results aren't good, but they've not been good for two decades. So long as they don't go any worse, it's good news.
