Tomorrow night, I'm off to San Francisco to take care of my mom's apartment. The first night I'll have internet access, but I'll be in so late that I doubt I'll have time to do much.

My super-phone is also still at the shop being fixed, so I won't have internet access that way. I'll be there until Monday night, staying at a friend's house. It'll be fun -- he's one of two people I still keep in touch with from high school. But, he doesn't have broadband. A few of his neighbors do, but that's not exactly reliable, given that they don't have any formal agreement about that.

I'll be running about SF all Friday, retiring to my friend's place that night and the next two. Saturday will likely be a milder version of Friday. Monday will be another rush-day, at least the part before I fly back. Sunday, someone had the idea it would be a day of rest, so I'll join in. (No, not Jehovah. He rested on Saturday, but what the hey.)

My friend is a great guy. When I visit SF, I always make time for him. We talk long into the night about anything and everything. Geeking out. World affairs. Food, prep, consumption, sales, whatever. My life. His life. Even how the high school building has changed. We talk.

This means, even if one of his neighbors doesn't secure their wi.fi router, I might not have the time (or energy) to write Sian, TRO, or even a blog entry.

I'll try to do so while riding the bus, but some of SF's buses are so crowded they remind me of Hong Kong. If I had my super-phone, I could hunt-and-peck my way through it. Instead, I'm using a Sony 810i "Walkman" phone.

I loathe it. It could be that this is a 'forced downgrade' because of my sad situation, but the phone's user interface just seems stupidly designed. There's a 'play' button on the side, easy to hit. Pushing it again pauses it. But, how do I get back to the phone part? I have to hit 'back' two or three times. Ick.

Anyhow, short form. I could be silent for the next few days. Hugs until we talk again.
