http://blogs.zdnet.com/Ou/?p=989&tag=nl.e622 George Ou recommends twelve apps and utilities.

uTorrent (http://utorrent.com/download.php) - Used it, but am a little disappointed in the selection on Torrents. eMule seems better.

Skype (http://www.skype.com/) - It'd be more useful to me if more friends use it. Then again, SpouseKitty is the more careful / paranoid type, so me VoIPing at home is probably not in the cards anyhow. But it looks like a neat IM client...

Paint.NET (http://www.getpaint.net/download.html) - Got it, haven't used it yet. I'm not much of a graphics creator type. IfranView (http://www.irfanview.com/) is more my sort of graphics app, able to resize, crop, etc.

Infra recorder (http://www.download.com/Infra-Recorder/3000-2646_4-10698815.html?tag=lst-6) - Got it, haven't used it yet. Most of my machines have ISO makers and burner software. Some may be crapware, but what the hey.

Dr. Divx (http://sourceforge.net/projects/drdivx/) - Got it, haven't used it yet. Not sure if I ever will -- we're probably not going to get new DVD deck, and I don't think our current one supports Divx. Thus, it's a non-starter for me.

FastStone Photo Resizer (http://www.faststone.org/FSResizerDetail.htm) - Got it, haven't ... you know the rest. I use Ifranview for the singleton stuff. Haven't had to worry about batch quantities.

K-lite Mega Codec Pack (http://www.codecguide.com/download_mega.htm) - Got it, may be using it, but am unable to determine what codec is in use. The Real player codec doesn't work with movies for the latest version. Then again, Real Player 11 isn't very reliable with newest .RMs.

Izarc (http://www.izarc.org/) - Got it, but don't like it. I prefer 7-zip myself.

Crap Cleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/download) - Got it, haven't used it. I may yet...

Autoruns (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/Utilities/AutoRuns.mspx) - Looks to be a debugging tool. Got it, haven't used it yet.

Process Explorer (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx) - Something I use at work everyday to see why my machine is unhappy. ;(

AVG Antivirus Free Edition (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/download-free-anti-virus/us/frt/0) Seems to work, seems well-thought out. It interacts with Windows Security Center -- it will keep the security center from flashing the warning that you're not using AV.

There, that's his list, my thoughts. Now, I'm off to bed.
