(I'm sure I've made another JS entry by that title. Good thing JS doesn't index by title.)

Things have been hectic at Chez Kitty.

MommaKitty-in-law (well, the only MommaKitty I have left) had surgery done on her Achilles tendon on Friday. It was separating, and that was a bad thing(tm).

Stately Kitty Manor was redone for SpouseKitty, who is in a wheelchair part of the time. She can walk, but only short distances without extreme pain. The house is all on one level and the master bathroom has large shower. Think 'oval whirlpool tub' footprint. We've added a stand around the throne to give assistance getting up and a waterproof bench in the shower area.

Thus, Kitty Manor is great for MommaKitty and her cast. Post-op instructions are for her to ice it for 2 hours, then give it 1 hour ice-free. Lather, rinse, repeat. Bless SpouseKitty, she's doing most of the shifts.

The living room has a recliner couch, which is also a good thing. SpouseKitty has her own recliner, one we've brought up when we moved from California. However, having a second (and third) recliner for MommaKitty was a godsend, as she has to keep her leg raised at all times.

Today was a daddy-daughter day. Kitten's class had an outing, a bowling day. SpouseKitty arranged it. The teacher suggested at the beginning of the school year that the kids have monthly outings so they get some socialization outside of school. Everyone agreed it was a good idea. No one said anything else, so SpouseKitty volunteered, lest it not be done.

So, six or seven trips later, she had to hand this one off to me while she took care of MommaKitty. It worked out well. Showed up early at the bowling alley, dropped off my credit card. Handed Kitten off to the teacher, waited for the other kids and parents to show. Went with the other parents (the ones who stayed, anyhow) to the adjoining cafe, sat and talked so the kids would get their socializing time.

It was the teacher's idea, actually. She didn't want the parents hovering, she wanted the kids to interact in a non-school environment. She's a great special-ed teacher. Heck, she's a great teacher. At the very least, we paid for her bowling and food.

Anyhow, the day ended, so I picked up Kitten, headed for the bus stop, ignored the odd nagging feeling I was forgetting something. Get on the bus, and a mile or two later, realize my credit card was still behind the counter at the bowling alley...

All, in all, a good, if hectic day. ;)
