One thing I love about my job is how I have some tests that take forever to run. That means I can fire them off and forget about them. Such as now, so I get to write a little.

Actually, I'm supposed to be working on a test plan, but I'm not in the mood for writing fiction it. :)

What have I been doing... I don't know. Working too much, going to sleep too late. What do I do? Idiotic stuff, really. Surf the web for Nerf mod stuff, discover new webcomics, follow some geek news and in general, loose myself.

I'm still in the "I don't want to think about it" mood. SpouseKitty is in the "I'm brave yet scared" mood, which is slightly better. We talked a little about it last night, about what I would miss the most if she's gone.

My hands couldn't stop fidgeting during it all. I dissected a mouse (point-and-click variety, not organic variety) while pondering. Later on, I fumbled with some brass tubing for the stupid, idiotic Nerf gun.

I don't know why I'm doing it. It's not like I'm going to attend a Nerf war or anything - I can't let my heart rate go above 150, so that's a no-go. Plus, I don't get scrapes anymore, I get fill on bleeders. I nicked myself with a stray sharp edge a few days back, and it's still stingy.

Once it's done, I'll post it to NerfHaven.com, but that's not the end goal. After that, I'll probably give it to my high-school best friend's son, the guy who got me started in this whole Nerf-mod business anyhow. Or, maybe I'll try to sell it on eBay.

Did you see this Lancer from Gears of War Nerf mod? The guy later sold it on eBay for major money. Now, I'm sure much of the cachet/cash-eh (he's Canadian, he'll probably hate me for the joke) is from the fact that it is the Lancer that showed up on so many blogs. Still, others on the site are doing the same mod and some are selling them for a c-note or so.

Nah, mine isn't going to be that good. If I do sell it, if I'm lucky, I'll make back cost of materials. Maybe I can do it again, this time taking less time. Why? To keep my hands busy.

And my mind empty.
