So our cat Hamlet has diabetes, and we and the vet have been attempting for months to fine-tune his insulin regimen to bring his sugar levels under control. This seems to have finally succeeded; the vet emailed Mrs. The Fyd today to say that his bloodwork from last checkup came back great. We had an intimation, though: last week we caught him handing down smackdowns to the lowest cat on the totem pole, and he hadn't dished out the discipline in ages; and yesterday I got him all riled up with catnip to the point where he was attacking me, something else we hadn't seen in a long time, which means that the little fscker must be feeling better finally. Our home is happy again.

He also played with a ball for awhile, but that just embarassed him. Much better to fight the big dumb human.
