The last of the shrimp in my Ecosphere has died. Last week I noticed it was swimming rather weakly (and often upside-down) if at all. Which behavior answers an earlier question of mine.

With the preceeding deaths in the community my first sight of those carcasses came after the other shrimp had chewed the head off. Not this time; the corpse is whole. We shall wait for the bacteria to clear it.

The last remnants will be the shed exoskeletons. As I rotate the sphere to bring the last corpse into view, a pair of these translucent forms float past, like the advance of a flotilla of ghost ships.
