Last night I printed out a "Vote No On 36" sign and taped it to the inside of one living room window. Today when I return home from work I hope I don't find a brick has been flung through it. Not likely; two of our neighbors sport "Vote Democratic" lawn signs. Which seems to me vaguely ungrammatical, if not downright uneuphonic. Anyway, our lawn will not bear such a sign, despite being a registered Democract my entire adult life (a registration I'm not planning on changing, whatever my despair over the party). I chased away the last Democratic canvasser over a dispute about the definition of "No Soliciting". Hopefully they'll not return. So, via Bruce Bawer's website, an apposite quote from Roger L. Simon: "What if you're one of these people who think that Gay Marriage is a natural outgrowth of the human rights movement and that the War on Terror is protecting those same rights? That's not a contradiction in my mind. In fact, it's almost evident. But neither political party seems prepared to accept this." Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
