I am typing this on a laptop in my living room, connected via a wireless network. I am no computer expert, but I have been using them since my brother got his Sinclair Spectrum ZX Spectrum way back in the wispy misty wee years. After that he got a Commodore 64, and at school I used such machines as the Apple IIE and later, at college, Macs. The first computer I owned myself was a386SX, 25mhz PC. Thus for years my interface with an operating system was mainly from the command line. Later I got a Windows 95 machine, and even later a Windows XP Dell.

So I've been long used to computers, and additionally to the amount of tinkering and fiddling that go along with them. This is especially true in the area of adding peripherals, or anything going beyond routine use.

Thus it has been ridiculously easy to set up this network. Mrs. The Fyd and I decided to get ourselves a coupla iBooks, and getting that AirPort up and running was so straightforward that I felt suspicious. But I've decided to roll with it. Easy as pie. Or perhaps, more honestly, just the way computers should interface with the average user.
