We're in Maui! (And don't believe the timestamp -- it's just after 9 a.m. local time). Heather and I just got back from snorkeling by Black Rock. We got there around 7 a.m., and first thing, we saw a sea turtle (well, Heather saw two -- I only saw the one that didn't swim away, but it hung around for a good fifteen minutes). Lots of lovely fish, too, but the turtle was the highlight. Amazing. I popped out of the water and said "That's the greatest thing I've ever seen."

This is, hmm, our third day here. We finally decided to pay the $10 a day for wireless access, at least for one day, to catch up on e-mail and whatnot. Dunno if we'll be getting online again, so I wanted to drop by and say aloha. We've been drinkiing mai tais and lava flows, and chilling by the pool, and eating vast quantities of very good food (Heather ate kahlua pork! And was pleased beyond measure when I told her to try it with a bite of pineapple). Tomorrow we might make the drive to Hana. Or go up north where there are big swells and where the surfing is good, to watch surfers. Whatever we do, we'll enjoy it. This place is as near to perfection as I've ever seen.

Gotta go. My turn to shower off the salt and sand from snorkeling, then we're going to eat a huge breakfast. I'll be in touch later.
