A day this beautiful should be spent in the outdoor sex pavilion!

Alas, Heather broke the news to me that there's no such thing as the outdoor sex pavilion.

Sometimes reality is a great disappointment to me.

But, instead, we went to the park and sat at picnic tables beneath an oak tree and wrote/revised. I did another scene of the spelling bee story, which is coming along. Then we ambled along the creek, etc. We picked up fajita fixings at the grocery store, returned home, and made a feast. Quite nice. We also put the finishing touches on Flytrap 5 this weekend, and will take it to be printed soon. Whoo! I love doing the micro-publishing thing, but it'll be nice to be done with it for a few months, so I can concentrate exclusively on writing stories for a while.

It was a really lovely weekend with my wife, happy and productive, all I could have asked for (except I wouldn't mind if it went on for several more days...)

I got my contributor copies of the July Asimov's, including my alternate universe video store story "Impossible Dreams" (which has a couple of nice reviews upcoming in the June issue of A Certain Magazine -- one advantage of working there is seeing such things early).

You've probably seen the Nebula winners already. Hurray for everybody, but especially hurray for Kelly Link, who won two this year! And for two of my favorite stories from last year. It's nice when the Academy votes as I do.

Tomorrow, back to work. My last week before embarking for the wild island in Ohio. Should be, hmm, frantic. I spend the next two weekends in Ohio (or on planes to or from), and the weekend after that I'll be in Madison, Wisconsin, so this is my last weekend home in May! Too bad. I hope the goslings by the lake aren't all grown up by the time I return...
