Flytrap 6 Is Ready

Flytrap 6 is at the printer, and should be ready Monday. We got a proof and it's pretty. It has a blue cover. Would you like to see this cover (in an admittedly non-blue incarnation)? Along with the thrilling and nerve-delighting Table of Contents? Then go to the Flytrap site!

I tend not to wax poetic about my editorial choices -- they gotta speak for themselves -- but I'm very happy with the fiction this issue, and am especially thrilled to be publishing something by Jan Wildt. Jan and I shared a ToC in Maelstrom back in 1999 (that 'zine contained my first published piece of fiction, actually), and I adored Jan's story "Wonderfreaks" when I read it back in 2002. Eventually we began lackadaisically corresponding and I bugged him for stories for Flytrap occasionally. This last time, he sent "The After-Life". I loved it. I made Heather read it, and she loved it.Hope y'all love it, too. One of the neatest things about publishing a 'zine is being able to print authors I have admired for some time (speaking of, Steve Rasnic Tem is in issue #6, too! Whoo!).

We also posted guidelines for issue #7. The short form is, Heather's editing fiction, and we're open from November 15 - December 31, 2006. Submit! (But not now. In, like, three weeks.)
