OK, I need to get something off my chest

and Nina's sick of me complaining about it to her, so now you all get to hear (read) it. All this semester, the people in my workshop have been sensationally bad about not having their stories turned in the week before we discuss them. Instead they (OK there are a few really bad perpetrators, it isn't everyone) have some reason why they don't have a paper copy and then they take the whole week when we're supposed to be reading and critiquing their stuff to work on the story. I'm pissed because one person in particular has done this every single time he has had to turn in, and I just got the copy of the story someone else had to submit early because he didn't have his done. Show some courtesy, people! Anytime on Tuesday (or Monday) for that matter is too late to turn in a piece for a Wednesday workshop. Last week, a girl who was supposed to turn in before Spring Break not only gave herself two extra weeks, she waited until Monday night to dump 40 pages of material on us. (Normal stories tend to run between 5-15 pages.) I'm just really sick of this shit. It's not like me to swear, so you see how upset I am.

I'm a little edgy anyway because we got 8 inches of snow yesterday and if this winter doesn't end soon I may just hop in my car and head south. Anyway, I have to go because I have to read a story -- and I can't even be mean while critiquing it because the poor girl was just trying to fill in for the guy who screwed up.
