but it's hard to be too tired to aimlessly websurf. Anyway, check out N.A.G., a free program that surfs the Gnutella network, picks out snippets of files that correspond to phrases or keywords you type in, and merges them into a composition. There was a really cool NY Times article on it (there is a link on the site) if you want to know more.

And if you care, about stealing copyrighted songs, the program was created by a musician who is against internet music piracy, and he doesn't consider what N.G.A. does piracy. If it does bother you, when you have finished listening to your mixes and a full song is downloaded, simply delete them from the program.

A caveat: I haven't tried this yet. I am in the process of downloading it right now. The website reccommends a broadband connection, which I don't have, so we'll see what kind of results I get.
