'll say this about Sarah Lawrence -- they really know how to butter up their graduating students. Tuesday they threw the Masters candidates a really nice dinner, and we got our hoods. It was fun, the food was good, and we had free wine and champagne. Plus, us writing students were united in our resentment of the theater MFAs, who are really overly obnoxious in seeking attention, even for theater people. (I had several theater friends in high school; I don't remember them needing to yell/sing at the top of their lungs at every possible moment. During a formal dinner, for pete's sake.)

Anyway, today my boss took me out for lunch -- in Bronxville, which means expensive. (The village uses the closeness of the fast food restaurants in Yonkers to keep the golden arches from bringing down their property values.) Salmon and Italian cheesecake, yum. Two good meals in two days -- makes up for the Stouffer's specials I've been relying on lately. And my parents fly in tomorrow evening. Most of our meals will probably be less salmon and more Taco Bell, but at least I won't be paying. That sounded mercenary, but I'm taking what financial breaks I can get right now.

I probably won't have time to write much until my parents leave on Monday, but if anything noteworthy happens at graduation I'll let you know.
