And if you don't get that reference, you aren't watching Veronica Mars like I told you to. Come on, one of the characters did a Yoda impression this week -- how much more incentive do you need?

I have a zit on my nose. I still get little bumps from time to time, but this is a full on, bright red hump -- it is not unlike the makeup you see every time a sitcom does one of those "I have a zit right before the big date/dance" plots. Surely I am too old for this, right?

Other randomness. It was 80 degrees two days this week, which was lovely. It is now supposed to rain all weekend. At least I might get the laundry done, finally.

I've almost finished my latest knitting project -- and it was one of the "Expert" grade patterns in Vogue Knitting so if I pull it off I'll be very pleased with myself.

Been reading more, and also making preliminary motions on another large scale writing project, which I mean to actually carry through on this time. (I know, you've heard this before.) But I'm going to try the Margaret Atwood approach of making a complete outline of the entire plot and detailed case histories of all the characters before I start writing this time. It might actually work better for me, since I tend to abandon projects as soon as I don't know where I'm going. Of course, I also abandon projects because I get bored with them, so we'll see what happens. Still, I put in two good years on my thesis novel, and ended up with a few hundred pages of material, even if most of it needs to be rewritten -- and I did a lot of advance plotting with that. Plus, this is all part of my plan to actually get serious (as in "producing something that people might pay you for") about my writing this summer. It's time

Oh, and I actually had an awesome weekend after last Friday's disaster post. I went to MOMA on the spur of the moment with my work buddy, and then for Indian food. So high culture and a new culinary experience. Then Saturday, Yan came over and we checked out a Mexican place in my neighborhood (verdict: better than Taco Bell, but no El Tequila) and sat around talking about TV shows we like and inventing our own television drama. So pop culture and my favorite culinary experience. Then I read an entire book in one night. I love doing that. And I knit. And worked on my writing project. And went to my freshly renovated neighborhood library. It was exactly what I needed.

So, I'm thinking there is no way this weekend will be as fun as last weekend -- especially since it's going to rain and it's my weekend to pay bills -- but that's okay. You have a good one, too.
