My Last Lazy Friday Ramblings
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

Not exactly true, but we get to go home early next Friday on account of the Labor Day holiday, so I won’t be being lazy around here.And the way things are piling up on the schedule, once school starts it’s going to be go go go for a while.Hopefully I will soon have my new computer (ordered and paid for – yay!) so I can post on weekends and evenings.

The first time I read The Vine, I thought “oh hmmm, cute” but now it’s on vacation until next month and I really don’t like that.

I love my boss, I do, but please tell me how you can have a 90 minute meeting with someone specifically to talk about scheduling workshops and not talk about a) how many people to expect b) who is handling the room scheduling and catering (the other person was from another department that we are collaborating with for these workshops)?

Yay, Sus is coming for Labor Day Weekend!Boo, no baseball team is playing in NY!

“They” are doing construction upstairs that involves (I think) connecting to some pipes and/or wires on our floor.So today the ceiling above me has been shaking and rumbling as if a subway train was going through, and of course security didn’t turn off the stairwell alarm so the engineers who came to look at something down here set it off. I believe they are actually breaking through to our floor over the weekend – pretty much right above my desk. Great. Also, they have been turning the elevator off in the middle of the day without telling anyone so they can get their equipment up and down (does that make sense at all?). This is actually the only reason I know any of this, because somebody else on the floor was expecting a visitor that waited for 20 minutes for the elevator to be unlocked (the stairs to our floor are locked from the outside), and then floor person confronted the construction guys and got all the details. They better not mess up my desk – anymore than it is already messed up, anyway.

Lala, my cubicle neighbor, got a pair of season tickets to the Metropolitan Opera, and is letting Emm and I (along with her non-work friends) split the second ticket.I feel so high-class.

I’m going out tonight!I haven’t seen anybody since Nn’s party, which was right after I got back from Oklahoma. OK, not true, I ran into J1 at Target on Sunday, but that was really random and short.Anyway, I am in a socializing mood. Actually, I have been almost giddy all week, which is bizarre, but I’m not complaining.

Have a wonderful weekend!
