Migraine. Which is what I had on Friday evening. It was probably caused by eating a late lunch and not having any sinus medication in the morning, but remedying those situations did not keep my head from feeling like it had been slammed into a wall a few times. I mention this not to complain but by way of explaining that I didn't write any NaNoWriMo words on Friday. Which makes getting over 11,000 words by the end of the weekend (I did more than 5,000 on Saturday alone) fairly impressive, don't you think?

Marathon. Yesterday was Marathon Sunday here in NYC, which is my second favorite Day to be in New York of the year (after 4th of July). One of these days I'm actually going to get up and out to 4th Avenue to watch in person, but considering the point of 4th Avenue I'm closest to is the 3rd or 4th mile of the race, it means getting up pretty early. Still, if I hadn't been watching on TV, I likely would have missed that Shannon Miller was running, which was kind of cool. Although when she said she was running because her goal was to run a marathon before she turned 30 it made me feel really old. I was in 7th grade during her first Olympics, and we were students at OU at the same time.

Movies. As in, I actually want to go to the theater and see Stranger than Fiction which may be the first time I've actively anticipated a movie's release since The Return of the King. The Times had a good article about Emma Thompson today -- I had missed that her Oscar for Sense and Sensibility is actually for writing the screenplay -- and the idea of a movie about a writer, who is played by an actor who actually writes is not exactly making me less excited about it. Also in the Times movie section, I found out the main character in Flushed Away is voiced by Hugh Jackman, which may explain why I am disturbingly drawn to the parts of the trailer where said character is speaking. I do, in fact, have similar reactions to the Prestige trailers, but I thought it was because I could actually see him. Obviously not.
