OK, who in this day and age still starts a form letter (email, actually) "Dear Sirs" ? Especially when the person who signed the email is a woman (at least, I assume Cindy is a woman's name) AND it's a form email advertising an education conference (one of the few academic fields not dominated by men). Even the form emails we've been getting from Korea have had more sense, and the writers of those emails have at best a shaky grasp of the English language.

Sorry, I'm not really offended by the above, I just find it weird. I occassionally have to guess as to the gender of a professor I've only communicated with over email, and with the number of international professors we deal with, it's often a straight 50/50 guess. Luckily, most of the time I can get away with the gender neutral "Dear Professor Whosits."

Anyway, we did a few too many things en releve (tiptoe, for you non-ballet people) in class last night and now the arches of my feet are sore. This is a new experience in the sore muscle pantheon for me, and it's a very weird feeling. It actually is more noticeable when I'm not standing up, I think because putting my weight on my feet stretches the muscles out a little.

On the plus side, we got to do tourjetes again, and I did a few double pique turns, which were never my strong point even back in the fifteen-hours-a-week in the studio days. They weren't very pretty, but I did them.
