(Ha, now you have that evil Beyonce commercial running through your head, don't you?)

Anyway, I had a little down time today, so I thought I'd further refine my Photoshopping skills and work up a new look for the blog while I was at it. I loved those birds, but they were adapted from some art on an Erin McKeown album, and while cool, weren't really mine. But I took this picture of the tiger lilies on Governor's Island last summer, so all this artwork is 100% mine. I really wanted to have a gray background, but the color theme choices are pretty limited here at Journalscape (not that I'm complaining -- the modifications I can make are far more useful to me than what I was allowed to do on Xanga). Anyway, there are only two gray based themes and they're both kind of ugly, so this was the next best thing.

Pindeldyboz launched it's very first holiday theme issue today. (The theme was "Home", which is pretty general, but we didn't come up with it until almost October, so we didn't want to limit our choices by making it too specific). I'm pretty proud of it since it was my idea in the first place; though the other editors certainly helped with the execution (the actual theme was Grace's idea). Also the final print issue is posted on the site as a free download -- I haven't had a chance to read it all yet but what I've seen (and what I heard at the launch party reading last week) is really awesome.

Only one more post work excursion into the cold and I'll have all my Christmas shopping done -- at least all of it that I need to have done before I fly home.

I feel like I should say something about the Edmonds trade, since I've been known to wax emotional about him. As much as I wanted him to retire a Cardinal, though, it didn't make a lot of sense with his injuries and declining numbers and our plethora of young outfielders. I'm mostly relieved that we avoided another Ozzie Smith situation, especially since Tony and Jimmy have had their run-ins before. However, if the Cardinals take the money they saved in moving Jimmy's contract and all we get for it is Kyle Lohse, I will not be happy.
