MADCAP MUSINGS

We've all been there - you're trying really hard to keep a straight face and pay attention while listening to some raving lunatic go on and on about some bit of nonsense. They're trying REALLY hard to sound smart. And then it happens. The icing on the cake. That what makes the entire one-sided conversation worthwhile: The Word You Will Never Forget.

Here is a list of some of my favorites. These words have actually been spoken to me in real life. I'm not kidding. Seriously.

P.S. One or two have been used in a moment of uncertainty and were quickly retracted. Others were not.

1. Volumesque
2. Consultment
3. Substinance
4. Proportionalizing
5. Irregardless
6. Gription *
7. Skeptamistic *
8. Gigantical (ok, this word is actually in the dictionary, but since when? We used to joke around calling things 'gigantical'. Who woulda thunk?)

* These words were so fantabulous that they are now commonly accepted words used and loved by all of our friends.
