What a turn around

Today started off absolutley miserable - chilly and so foggy that it seemed as if it was actually raining. It's been almost a week straight of wet weather.

Matt woke up finally feeling better today. I know how stir crazy he was getting. I felt the same way when I was sick.

So I got to the store just before ten this morning. I unlocked the door, turned off the alarm and got down on my hands and knees to feel the carpet. We had it professionally steam cleaned yesterday morning (usually we rent one of those carpet cleaners form the grocery store and do it ourselves, but there's one problem with that - we don't have hot water at the store, so we're washing the carpet with cold water. Not the best way to get it really clean). I wanted to make sure the floor was dry, which I really thought it would be, since it had been 24 hours. To my surprise it was still pretty damp. We figured it didn't dry all the way because of all the moisture in the air.

Seeing as how we couldn't let people in to walk all over our still damp, clean carpets, we decided to close again today. That meant TWO days off in a row for me when I wasn't sick or doing some other sort of work.

Yesterday Matt and I sat around and watched tv, since he was still feeling a bit rough. Today he wanted to get out of the house, so I rode into town with him while he stopped to pick up some materials for a job he has to start tomorrow. Then we looped around and went out to West OC, grabbed some lunch and then stopped off at Home Depot. By the time we got home the fog had dissipated, the sun was out and it was WARM!

We took advantage of the day and got some preliminary yard work done (getting ready to do the flower planting, mulching, and pond cleaning within the next couple of weeks) and Matt cut the grass.

It felt good to get some stuff done outside. I can't remember the last time I worked up a sweat out in the sunshine! Now I'm going to try my hand at this VHS to DVD burning. I'll let you know how it goes, and if your good, I might even share!
