Books and other stuff I feel like discussing

By education and experience - Accountant with a specialty in taxation. Formerly a CPA (license has lapsed). Masters degree in law of taxation from University of Denver. Now retired. Part time work during baseball season as receptionist & switchboard operator for the Colorado Rockies. This gig feeds my soul in ways I have trouble articulating. One daughter, and four grandchildren. I share the house with two cats; a big goof of a cat called Grinch (named as a joke for his easy going "whatever" disposition); and Lady, a shelter adoptee with a regal bearing and sweet little soprano voice. I would be very bereft if it ever becomes necessary to keep house without a cat.

Coors Field Nugget Five - Woo Hoo!

Rockies 3, Yankees 1 with Josh Fogg calm and businesslike on the mound. With the hectic nature of the early part of the evening, I wasn't able to pay very much attention until we got to the fourth inning or so. I'll fill in the blanks tomorrow reading the morning paper.

But a sparkling moment, for me at any rate, was A-Rod at the plate with a 3-2 count, and Fogg getting him to swing at the next pitch and sending him back to the dugout with a strike out.

The crowd was about 50-50 Rox/Yankees fans, with the noise greeting Rockies plays growing in intensity and volume as the evening went on, and the Yankee cheers subsiding.

I may have more to say about this in the morning - time for bed. But I will close with the observation that while I always enjoy my job, tonight was just plain fun, the only description which comes close.
