So, my boss made me a project team leader today. I'm now in charge of a team consisting of...me. Working on what is probably my department's lowest priority project. In fact, this title carries with it absolutely no added perks or responsibilities except that I get to report on the progress of the project at a weekly staff meeting. Oh, and now instead of saying, "I'm the temp who's revising the FooBar manual," I can now say, "I am the FooBar Project Team Leader."

Hey, you know, you get your kicks where you can find them.

The pace of work on this job is funny. You know the saying: "The first 90% of the work takes 90% of the time, and the last 10% takes the other 90% of them time." Nowhere is that more true than in technical writing. Over the course of yesterday, I got a manual about 90% ready to go. This evening, I have the same manual about 93% ready to go. And I really have been working on the thing for most of today. Unghkh.

I'm still ahead of schedule, though, so everything is cool.

And my sister is coming to town this weekend for a job interview! Wheee! It'll be cool to see her. It'll be even cooler if she gets the job and moves to the Bay Area. Keep your fingers crossed for her.

Okay, I'm going to see if I can hit maybe 93.5% ready to go before I go home for the evening.
