You know, I've met my share of Famous Authors, including a number of my Personal Writing Gods, and if I haven't exactly become blase about it, I at least usually manage to keep my cool. But when I phoned Daniel earlier, and he informed me that he was wandering around the University District with Samuel R. Delany, looking for a quiet place to have a beer and do some reading/writing, I came this close to shrieking, "Eeeeeeeee! Omigod! You met Chip Delany!"

And it's not like this was a surprise folks - I've known all along that Delany was going to be the instructor for week 6 of Clarion West.

Anyway, had a productive day today. Did three loads of laundry, and cleaned the kitchen. Read Daniel's latest 10,000 word Clarion West monstrosity. (I use the term monstrosity entirely affectionately.) Sent off a short story to Strange Horizons, and prepped another to go off to SciFiction. Guess I'm in a webzine kind of mood or something.

And I did a little work on the work-in-progress, which was a relief, since it had been more of a work-not-in-progress for the past week or so.

And I read some of a biography of Machiavelli, which has been giving me wonderful, terrible, ideas for an alternate history novel. Sigh.
