I don't think there's anything I can say about the election results that hasn't already been said better by somebody else. But I found this map of the votes by county for the candidate really funny. Yes, Virginia, the Bay Area really is in a different political dimension.

Today at work I finished getting twelve manuals ready to go out to two different printing companies for bid. Whew! I had no idea that it would be this much work to go to press with manuals that were essentially finished months ago. But there's a big difference between "essentially finished" and "ready to print" - those last few errors and formatting glitches take some time to correct. (Particularly since, I swear, gremlins were coming in in the middle of the night and shifting all my tab stops 0.25 inches to the left! @$%#&! Microsoft Word! I can tell tales of recalcitrant section breaks that would make your blood run cold. But since there's entirely too much tech writer neepery in this journal anyway, I won't.) Then there's just the sheer time and labor involved in printing out a few thousand pages.

But it's done, and I have tomorrow off, and I intend to spend the day doing absolutely nothing practical or productive. I shall read novels and play with the PlayStation 2.

Then on Saturday, I think I'm going to have to sit down and start planning out what we need to do before we move. We have a ton of crap that needs to be thrown away. We have a smaller amount of non-crappy stuff that we don't need or use anymore that needs to be given away or sold. Lots and lots of people will have to be notified of our change of address. We'll need to buy some new furniture as well, but most of that can probably wait until after we move.

The owners of our new apartment planted mint in the back yard. I'll have to learn to make mojitos or something. Shucks.

This is going to be fun.

Right now, I think I'm off to bed.
