Yesterday evening, before leaving work, I wrote out a long to-do list for what I needed to do the next day. It was very precise, very step-by-step. Yay, organized me, right?

So, I get in this morning, and noticed that I had very carefully dated it 1/18/2004 at the top of the page.

Organized me, but apparently a little confused about what day it is.

I really need to get off my butt and buy a car. There was a plan for a while that involved me getting a hand-me-down car from one of Daniel's parents - this fizzled when they went shopping for a new car to replace one of their old ones, and couldn't find any that they liked. (They're big fans of Volvo station wagons, but apparently the 2004 model handles like a truck.) The upside of this is that what I really wanted was a compact car with a manual transmission, so now I can get one. It's just kind of scary making a purchase this big.

I'm going to test drive a MINI Cooper on Thursday. For the past couple of years, that's been my fantasy car. Will I buy one? Lord knows, but at least I'll get to see if reality lives up to the fantasy.

On a happy driving note, the left turn at River Oaks and Montague Expressway gets less scary all the time. Look, Ma, no white-knuckled grip on the steering wheel!
