I am loving my new car. It is really fun to drive, which is neat, because since I had the accident, driving has been more of an unpleasant chore than anything else. Especially at night or in the rain. But I really feel much more at ease in my car. I don't know if this is because it handles better than the rental car I was driving, or if it's just a psychological effect of it being my car, or if it was just time for me to be over the trauma of the accident. Whatever it is, I'm tooling around happily.

Last night as I was driving home, a black Ford Mustang GT pulled up next to me on Capitol Avenue and revved its engine challengingly. This kind of thing never happened to me when I was driving a mid-sized sedan with a butt-dent in the hood.

Speaking of the accident, Daniel and I nearly got to witness a repeat of it this morning - we were in a left turn lane, and when the car in front of us began to turn on the green arrow, another car ran the red light. Both cars braked quickly, and stopped without colliding, and the red-light runner looked appropriately sheepish. But, geez.

So, my other great accomplishment of today so far is figuring out how to work the digital camera that Daniel and I got for Chanukah, and figuring out how to use iPhoto to upload the photos to the web. (This did not require a whole lot of figuring. I was able to do it before my first cup of coffee this morning.) So, for your viewing pleasure, I offer you a photo of my car.

Okay, I'm off to make a grocery store run. In my car. Wheee.
