Mood:
Accomplished

I had two items on my to-do list when I arrived in at work this morning. One was to give someone some comments on a document. This was quickly and easily accomplished within 15 minutes of my arriving this morning. The other was to finish a final draft of a piece of documentation, so that I can print it and get it out of my hair.

It really only ought to take a couple of hours, I think.

That item is still sitting on my to-do list, entirely untouched. However, I managed to acquire 7 additional to do items and cross every single one of them off the list today. One of these items involed figuring out how to do conditional build expressions in RoboHelp and using them to pull together a new online Help project. Mwah ha ha! My sense of triumph is dampened only by the fact that nobody on the development team knows enough about how the online Help is written to appreciate that I just did something rather clever. Such is the tech writer's life. We also serve who only stand and write complex Boolean expressions. Not.

Then I wrote a four page document describing what I did. It took longer to document than to do, but I think I'll be glad of the documentation the next time I (or someone else) have to do it.

I feel both clever and accomplished, and yet stupid, because I really wanted to finish that one little darned piece of documentation.

Oh well, there's always tomorrow.
