Hope everyone out there had a good New Year's Eve. Mine was very low key - neither Daniel nor I felt like braving the rain, crowded freeways, potential drunk drivers and the like to attend any parties or events, so we got a pizza from the Pizza Hut up the road and watched some episodes of the anime series Angelic Layer. (Good series. Very much straight up shojo (girls' anime), but lacking the utter cutesy-ness of some shojo.)

And we had fresh-brewed coffee with Cask&Cream chocolate cream liqueur. Mmmm. It's very nice in coffee. (Sipped neat, it's basically alcoholic chocolate milk, which is nice too, but in a much stranger way.)

We took turns playing Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas. I must say that I haven't really seen the appeal of previous Grand Theft Auto games, but this one has a certain charm due to the fact that a) they beefed up the story-line considerably. I basically don't like games that don't have plot. b) the game recreates the atmosphere (and in some cases literal pieces of architecture) from California, which makes it eerily real and familiar. However, I'm still too lacking in hand-eye coordination to make it through the first mission, so I don't think I'm going to be playing a whole lot.

We've picked up a DVD of Hero, but haven't gotten around to watching it yet.
