The title of today's entry is one of several suggestions made by FrameMaker's spell checker for "chromatograms". Why FrameMaker's spell checker has such problems with plurals, I don't know. It recognizes "chromatagram" but not "chromatograms".

It also suggested "red is play" for "redisplay", which should probably really be "re-display".

However, my spell checker is not really why I'm feeling vexed today. I am feeling vexed today because my knees hurt. They were a bit sore yesterday, but they felt fine this morning, so I went ahead and did my usual elliptical workout. Now they hurt more than they did yesterday.

As far as I can tell, it has all the signs of classic tendinitis in the knee: a relatively mild soreness just below the kneecap, most perceptible when I get up from a chair or squat or bend my knees more than usual. According to the quick google I did, this is extraordinarily common in newbie exercisers or folks who ramp up their exercise regimen too quickly. I probably qualify as both at this point. Sources also agree that it's nothing serious, as long as one isn't stupid enough to ignore it and keep exercising through the pain.

So, I'll be taking tomorrow off from my workout, and possibly Saturday, too. And when I do get back on the elliptical, I'll do some more leg stretches. I may need to alternate workouts on the elliptical machine with some other form of exercise that's easier on the knees.

Still, I'm irked. I thought I'd finally come up with a simple foolproof exercise routine! But it's not quite knee-proof.
