I think I've had just about the most perfect Saturday.

I got up around nine, and made some breakfast and a pot of green tea. I curled up on the bean bag chair with a big ol' mug of tea and watched the anime Fruits Basket. I'm already quite a fan of the manga - I think the anime has won me over, too. There's something too incredibly funny about having all these incredibly handsome guys who turn into incredibly cute little animals when they happen to be hugged by someone of the opposite sex. I mean, it ought to stop being funny after a while, but it doesn't. I laughed my head off. Perhaps I'm just easily amused.

When I was done watching, Daniel was up. We went out for coffee. I did some reading and a tiny bit of writing.

We came back, and I messed around on the internet for a while. Then I did some grocery shopping. The local PW has vastly expanded its selection of Swedish crispbread. This is probably not causally related to the fact that I've been buying bucketloads of the stuff recently, but it amused and pleased me nonetheless.

Then I made this soup for dinner. Mmmmmm. I highly recommend it. Use linguica and sauvignon blanc. I doubled the recipe (because, hey, otherwise I'd have had to come up with something else to do with 1/2 of a bunch of kale. I've never cooked kale before.) Daniel ate 3 bowls of the stuff. (Interestingly, I doubled a recipe that said it made 2 servings. I ate one bowl, Daniel ate 3 bowls, and I put away 4 tupperwares of leftovers. Whoever wrote the recipe must have figured on a big serving.)

I had a glass of the sauvignon blanc with dinner, and quite enjoyed it. Which goes to show once again that I can drink any white wine as long as it isn't chardonnay. Weird. I may make a wine drinker of myself yet.
