Well, rumors of my recovery from stomach ickiness were greatly exaggerated. Last night I was hit with what appeared to be full blown food poisoning. Yuck.

I remember being sceptical when I read in Fast Food Nation that many forms of food poisoning have an incubation period of a few days, because previous incidents of food poisoning have always seemed to correlate quite well to something dubious consumed within the past 24 hours. But in this instance, I can't help but think that Wednesday and Thursday's stomach ickiness must have been the build up to full blown attack. Either that, or I've had an exceptional run of bad luck gastrointestinally.

I also understand why very few incidents of food poisoning are reported. When you're dry-heaving over a porcelain basin at 1:30 in the morning, the last thing you really want to do is phone up some piece of the local government bureaucracy and start giving them a detailed account of everything you've eaten for a week.

I suppose I could report it now, since I do seem to be feeling better, but really, I think I have better things to do with my time. I did have plans for this weekend that involved things other than lying around in my pajamas, watching Farscape, and experimenting cautiously with the consumption of clear liquids.
