Doctor Who Press Launch Coverage

Just a note for any other Doctor Who fans out there - the unofficialFreema Agyeman fansite has some clips of coverage from the Doctor Who Series 3 press launch, as well as the trailers for the series at higher video quality than is available from the BBC web site. (Allegedly, the BBC deliberately cruddifies the video it makes available outside the UK, on the grounds that viewers outside the UK aren't paying the television license fees that support BBC programming. Fair enough, though I'd gladly send them a contribution roughly equivalent to the portion of the license fee that goes to support Doctor Who.)

Just a warning - the press coverage includes a couple of short clips from the first episode, "Smith and Jones", as well as a couple of mildly spoilerly comments by press people. Nothing that would ruin my enjoyment of the show, but I know that people have differing sensitivities to spoilers. (Online fan communities are very sensitive about them.)

The trailers are cool, but it's the clips from "Smith and Jones" that have got me really excited. I think Freema Agyeman is going to do a great job as new companion Martha Jones.

In the department of two countries divided by a common language, the most recently trailer begins with a dialogue exchange that thoroughly baffled me:
Martha: I need a man who's smart.
The Doctor: Suit and trainers works for me.

I watched the trailer about 5 times, and could not parse the Doctor's dialogue into sensible English. It wasn't until I saw the line transcribed that I realized a) Martha was using the British sense of "smart", as in "well-dressed" and b) the Doctor was saying "trainers", or, as we yanks would say, "sneakers".

This is why every Doctor Who fan message board has a very active topic for dealing with trans-Atlantic comprehension issues.
