Rain, Rain

It's been raining all day, the kind of rain that makes you think it's November except that the trees are all still a brilliant orange and red. The high today never got over 50 degrees. I like days like today, which I suppose makes me weird. My kids get super-hyper on rainy days, though, and Andy starts developing SAD when it rains too often. So I guess this means we won't be moving back to Oregon any time soon, and I'll just have to keep writing about it.

I worked on the short story some today, 4 or 5 handwritten pages. I'm hoping to get it done this weekend, but this weekend is going to be super-busy with G's birthday party and Deutsch Country Days in Marthasville on Sunday. The deadline for the anthology I want to submit to is November 1, so I need to get my act together. Yesterday I got a rejection from Don Maass agency, and I sent queries to three more agents. I am trying to fit all this stuff in around everything else we're doing, and it seems to be easiest when I don't think too much about what I'm doing.

Right now I'm trying to get to the end of a homeschooling seminar by Chris Davis of the Elijah Company on CD and Katie and Ethan are fighting with each other over the dollhouse. How come all the sibling spats never surface in the homeschooling books I read?
