2004-10-15 11:10 PM Birthday Party Hell Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Grumpy Read/Post Comments (2) Birthday party hell is where I am. G's birthday party is tomorrow, and I have spent all night doing my drill sergeant routine in order to get the place looking as if actual people might live in it. Otherwise the place looks as if it's a testing range for toy bombs. (Clothes bombs, paper bombs, etc. You pick.)
Anyway, my chocolate hazelnut coffee candle has been burning all night, which is making my house smell yummy, so that takes a bit of the sting out of the evening. I don't like to drink coffee, unless it's a latte with a lot of caramel syrup, but it sure smells good. And much better than the dirty diaper trash that was stinking up Ethan's room today. Yuck. Another rejection today, this one for two poems I sent to the Pedestal for their speculative poetry issue. Not a bad rejection, so I tweaked "Chrysalid" a bit and put it in the mail to Cicada, and the other one, which is more grown-up and darker, to Black October. I've made more submissions this month that I did all last year. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
