I just answered two ads on Nerve.com. They both sound like they'd get along with me - one describes herself as creative and wants the same in a man.

The other woman listens to NIN, but is also a lawyer. Both have obvious flaws. In the first: EACH of you struggling writers knows that the creative process can be a hurtful and selfish one too. Happy + Creative tends to be neither. Unless you're that damned fool Cory Doctorow, who seems almost too happy.

And a lawyer? Nuff said about those possible complications.

Things to fear: that if either of them like me and we date, that she might look in this journal and see that I answered two ads in one night. I don't want to be seen as a male slut too early in the game. Much of the gamble of online dating is realizing that you don't know how many other people the other is dating.

Chicks who are halfway good looking probably get at least one response a day. Most dudes might go days without even a collect call.

And how do we do it, going on day after day? Like my good friend Andy at http://www.livejournal.com/users/hallawayjoe/ said:
