 One person in the congregation wished me Happy Birthday today, after OEH announced it during announcements. I’m just sayin’…

 The Church Ladies have finally stopped asking WonderGirl how she likes her new school.

 My mother-in-law still addresses my card to “Mrs (Mr.Cheeseheads-First-Name) Cheesehead. I mean, it’s 2000 and friggin’6. She’s known my name for 25 years. I guess I had better get over this one, eh?

 My Office Admin left me a message on the church answering machine (during worship) wishing me Happy Birthday, but reminding me that she wasn’t in church ‘cause it was such a beautiful day outside and she didn’t want to waste the morning. Um, thanks…I think.

 Communion elements showed up ten minutes after worship started. The elder in charge of them just set the table during the Call to Worship like it was nothing.

 Some stuff was missing, like the loaf to break and share. And the juice in the flagon. Try punting those sometime!

 Nursery attendant didn’t show up. At all. We think it was her High School graduation, but we don’t know because she didn’t call to tell us.

 Church Treasurer told me today that he and his family will be travelling most of June. He asked me if it would be okay if I got my June paychecks in early July. He seemed genuinely surprised when I said, “No, that won’t really work for me.” W.T.F?

 Church Pianist played a stunning piece by Chopin today. She told us a little about the composer’s life first. Church Pianist studied music at nearby Presbyterian College. She is a bona fide musician. Should it bug me that she mispronounced his name three different ways during her little talk?

 Am I being overly sensitive today? Or has the world gone batsh*t crazy?
