I put my work bag by the door yesterday afternoon, promising myself I would do no more "work" this weekend. Of course, putting the bag by the door doesn't keep your mind from floating to work issues, and I kept thinking about the distribution of 5,000 copies of Encounter Calhoun County next week.

About 2500 - half - of the copies will go out in the newspaper. This covers about 1/3 of the county itself, and will send about 1,000 of them to subscribers throughout the state.

The remaining copies, thus, have to be mailed or delivered by hand to elected officials, tourism folks, economic development folks, and to store counters across the state.

I thought about the trip Frank and I would make - tentatively to Audra, our favorite state park - and about dropping off copies along our way.

That's when it occurred to me. I could pass out fliers for Impecunious Impressions at the same time.

So, this morning, I'm printing and folding fliers.

It's a meager attempt. I've been at it off and on over 30 minutes, and I have about 35 fliers - that's how fast my printer is. . . By the time I give up on it, I'll likely have 75 - 100 of my own little fliers to put here and there.

Will it make a difference? Send hundreds of folks to my online store to spend money? Doubtful. Will it be worth the cost of the ink printing them? Unlikely.

So. Why do it?

Because, there's a sliver of a chance.

There's a chance a flier will encounter that one person who will buy something, look cool in it, and when someone asks where they got it, will show them the logo on the back.

Then that person will want one, get one, show one, and so on.

There's a chance.

It could happen.

. . .

Boy, I'm wasting a lot of ink.
