I started this meager list yesterday. But after some thought - and seeing the list included no people - it continues to grow.

Things I love that are not work (or work task) related:

1. Working in my flower beds.
2. Camping with my husband.
3. Geocaching with my husband.
4. Soaking in the bathtub.
5. The John Tesh Radio Show.
6. Talking on the phone to my niece.
7. Visiting my mother.
8. Writing letters/emails to my friends.
9. Reading.


From four items to nine - I'm getting better!

Yesterday, I was reading some essays at Fiction Factor, (www.fictionfactor.com) and was struck hard by a paragraph on spending time writing.

"I'm often told by writers that their spouses don't understand the creative process, the writer's needs, and they aren't supportive. Involve your spouse. Help educate them in the process so that they do understand and can offer genuine support. Tell them specifically what you need."

That was helpful, and it works!
