Perhaps a different road?

I've been thinking about writing fiction, and it occurred to me this morning that even my story on Little One isn't fiction.

Perhaps my strengths lead me elsewhere, and I should consider non-fiction, if I want to be published - by a publisher other than the one I work for...

Perhaps my struggle with fiction is the fact that I'm a non-fiction person. All the books I read are how-to's or educational, the only fiction I have is my collection of Stephen Kings and my set of Wizard of Oz books...

I spent ten years in marketing - promotion - advertising. Seven years to get a four year degree, writing other student's term papers at the last minute for extra money.

So, fiction for fun, non-fiction for . . .

What is it I want to do with my writing? Make extra money? Become a household name (outside of Calhoun County, West Virginia)?

I just want to have a continuous creative outlet. I want to feel like a writer.

A reporter is a writer, but not. Or is it?
